Springhill CL is very well maintained, very welcoming - small and friendly site with Stunning views over our local countryside from every spacious fully serviced grass pitch.
Located in a stunning location, this countryside touring campsite is nestled off a quiet country lane in the heart of Staffordshire Moorlands just 200 meters off the main "A 521" Draycott Road and just 7 miles to the east of Stoke on Trent.
This popular CL site which is now under new ownership has been in operation for more than 26 years and has always been a great place for caravaners to stay especially for visitors to Alton Towers Theme Park which is just a few miles down the road from the site.
We have 3.0 acres of open field which is perfect for children and adults alike to play and run around in and a great area for walking our four legged friends, well behaved dogs are always welcome free of charge.
We have relocated each pitch so that all pitches are very well spaced and all have fabulous views of the breath taking meandering unspoiled hills. Each caravan/motorhome pitch has 16 amp electric hookup and fresh drinking water and a grey waste water drainage grid which are all included in the £15 per night base price. We also have an onsite chemical toilet cassette emptying station. There are several good quality local pubs and restaurants, a local Chinese take away and an Indian restaurant/takeaway both 3 minutes drive away. Within half a mile is a petrol service station and a Co-op mini market and three miles away is a major Tesco store.
There are also many other local attractions such as Trentham Gardens Visitor Centre and the Trentham Monkey Forest both located in the Trentham Estate. There are two working steam Railways nearby, The Foxfield Railway and the Churnet Valley Railway, both run throughout the year. We have Wedgewood museum and World of Wedgewood and also the Gladstone Pottery museum and municipal museums and the Emma Bridgewater pottery visitor centre is a great day out. A local horse racecourse at Uttoxeter. There are countryside walks and cycle routes and so many local places of interest all of which are great places to visit. Within a 20 minute drive you can be in the fabulous Peak District with very interesting towns such as Buxton Spa town and Matlock, famous for Abraham Heights Lesiure Park and the Blue John Mines. There is Crich Tramway museum and Dove Dale to the north east and Shropshire to the west. For motor sport enthusiasts we have Darley Dale motor cycle race track and Chesterton Speedway both just a short drive away and at Buxton and Hednesford we have banger and hotrod race tracks. there are fishing lakes canals marinas, market towns, shopping centres and much much more !! Or you could just stay in and enjoy the views and tranquility...

Just had a lovely bank holiday weekend at SpringHill, lovely views and very clean site, owner is very nice and helpful, there’s a tap to every van you can even pay and have a serviced pitch if you want, will return
very well kept
What a beautiful site, so well kept, grass and hedge wise, reasonably priced for your own tap waste and electric point. lovely views, the approach road is only busy rush hour times .Walking on the approach road not the best, but for a restful break, is perfect. would defiantly return if in that area.
A Lovely Place to Stay
I have seen a negative review about Springhill CL site and I wish to put my experiences on record as a review. We have been coming to Springhill Cl since 2002 to date. It is a lovely place to stay with great views over open countryside and down the valley towards Cheadle, Staffordshire. The owners Colin & Kath Bostock are lovely inviting people and will do anything to help if you require assistance. We used to have a dog which was not a problem as we were able to walk her around the back of the site and of course we cleaned up after her. A lot of people come on to the site with dogs and we have not had a problem with them. Yes the site access is a little awkward but should not be, and is not, a problem. The lane does have some traffic noise which is usually down to people going to and returning from work. 80% of the time it is quiet. It is well placed for going to tourist attractions etc. It is also on a bus route. We are booked in for two trips here this year for a total of around 3 weeks and we can't wait! Thank you Colin & Kath Bostock.
A little gem
Stayed here over the May Bank Holiday weekend. It's a beautiful setting and very peaceful. The views from the pitches are simply stunning. We were made very welcome and the owner calls round each morning to check all is well. You can walk into the local village of Tean in about 20 minutes, where there are dog friendly pubs and a local shop. Each pitch has the option of using its own water and waste for a modest charge, a brilliant option on a CL site. We were able to easily arrange a late departure on our last day. The only reason for not giving a 5 star overall rating is that the toilet block would benefit from updating. However, would highly recommend and plan to revisit
