Nutty Cottage caravan site is set in an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the historic market town of Louth. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the Lincolnshire Wolds, spot wildlife (keep an eye out for deer, rabbits and various birds of prey) and take a stroll through the boundless countryside. In the summer, the sun setting over the Wolds might just take your breath away, while all year round City-folk can take in the night sky like never before.
With five 16-AMP hook-ups, water and waste disposal, the adult-only site has everything you need for a relaxing break – but if you require anything else, owners Jane and Mike are just across the field to help out or offer advice on the local area.

If you fancy a trip into Louth or Mablethorpe the bus stops right outside the gate, while Cadwell Park is six miles down the road. Nutty Cottage is a 10-minute walk from the Royal Oak (known locally as The Splash) for good food and ales, and there is a convenience store less than a mile away. If you’re a golf lover the 18-hole Kenwick course adjoins the site.

Lovely

I would like to say we had a lovely week at Nutty Cottage CL site very friendly and felt very comfortable The owners Jane and Husband welcomed us onto the site plenty of room on the pitches and very tranquil plenty of places to visit nice beaches not far away. All round really nice place Thank you Jane and Mike will most certainly visit again.

A welcome "home"

We live in Kent and have been house hunting in the Louth area for over a year. We have used this site consistently as a little home from home in all weather and times of the year. Nothing is too much trouble for Jane and Mick. The site is easy acces off the A16, wide and long entrance clearly signposted, well kept level site overlooking field, two hardstandings. It can be little waterlogged at times and there is a main road to the rear but we don't find it intrusive. You can walk into Louth from the site, not a great walk, main roads and then residential, but if motor homer doable or closer is a costcutters and a really fab co-op. Great fish and chips next to co op called Hunters, the Spalsh pub is a good go to. More up market is the Livesey Arms in Ludborough. Right on the edge of the Wolds AONB perfect for cycling (hilly Wolds) or flat (marsh land). Louth is a gem of a Georgian market town, but also striking distance from the coast and Lincoln itself. Jane and Mick have been attentive but not intrusive and always amenable to tagging on extra days etc. Plenty of eateries in Louth itself and we've found it hard to spend more than £30 on a meal for two.

great site for dog owners

stayed for 8 days 7 were great it;s a lovely site if a bit small as the pitches are close together (see later) really good for dogs as there is plenty of space to exercise them off lead and a nice walk in the woods .The owners are lovely people very welcoming and helpful .Close to louth for any shopping needs and for 7 nights very peaceful unfortunately on the 8th night 2 motor homes arrived and the peace was shattered as they had a party till 12 midnight loud music till 9 and swearing till 11 when I asked them to stop, would like to return but not when they are there.

4 night stay

we picked up our new van from couplands then came here to try it out before carrying up to whitby. we really wish we had booked to stay at nutty cottage for another 7 nights first.what a great little c.l it is.owners very welcoming and helpful in every way. site is perfect for us and our dog. lots of places to go for walks close by.a great pub for meals and a good pint about a mile away called the splash we will definatly come for longer next year

Lovely site on the Doorstep of Louth

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid June with our caravan and 2 small dogs. The site has good access and 2 hard standings with 3 lawned pitches and well laid out. Prior to our arrival there had been several days of torrential rain and the site was still very wet when we got there.Fortunately we were allocated one of the hard standings.Over the 3 days we were there the site dried and returned to normal. We were welcomed by the owners on our arrival and we were given information regarding the locality and events. The site is surrounded by trees and open fields and quiet and would have been ideal for dog walking except for the weather. The water and waste facilities are suitably placed. The lovely town of Louth is within easy reach with lots of of interesting buildings, shops and pubs. Although our stay was short we will definitely stay again when in the area.

a week at Nutty Cottage CL with friends and dogs

Nice site easy to access with electric water and waste within reasonable distance. Pleasant surroundings and lots of space to walk the dogs. Pitches pretty level and even grass pitches had paving slabs for the caravan wheels. The site owners welcomed us and offered lots of information about local area and places to visit . Not too far to Lincoln or Mablethorpe -well positioned. For those who like to keep in touch - limited and variable mobile data availability - we tried EE and Vodafone. Unfortunately we had rain while we stayed here. Both us and our friends have dogs which sleep in the awnings - this became impossible as the awnings soon became pretty water logged. In fact the whole site could do with more drainage and soak aways - as the water didn't drain away very quickly at all - in the end we came home a day early. Site owners were informed but didn't show much empathy - a nice gesture would have been the offer of using their tumble drier to dry some of our mountain of wet towels - which were quite visible.

Directions : Turn right off the A16 Boston - Grimsby just before Louth bypass onto the A157 towards Mablethorpe, at next roundabout continue right onto the A157 to Mablethorpe. Site is on the right in about 240 metres.
