Bainside House is a great place to stay, quiet and in an idyllic spot where rest and relaxation are truly available. The lake and surrounding area are well maintained and are a pleasure to walk around. The local wildlife is mainly water birds, but there are a few varieties to watch out for.

The pod itself is very comfortable and new, the fold out sofa provides an ample double bed for 2 people to sleep in comfortably, it also has a single inflatable bed if needed. It is serviced with electicity and electric lights and has a kettle, microwave and toaster supplied. There is a water bottle for fresh water from the stand-pipe available outside the pod and a fantastic charcoal BBQ which was great to use. The pod itself is situated beside the lake, I am aware that Mick is planning on making it a little more private for it’s users, but we were quite happy with the position and did not find it at all intrusive by the people coming to fish the lake.

The campsite is available for those with caravans, motor homes, tents as well as the Pod and a Lodge and has electrical hook ups for those requiring electricity. Rates are very competititively priced and affordable It is serviced by a very modern shower and toilet of which are suitable for use by people who have diabilities. Mick also provides a basic food menu if requested and there is an award winning pub next door, but you need to book if wanting to eat as it does get busy.

Local attractions such as the East Kirkby Aviation centre are within a short drive, as is Lincoln city, Cadwell Park, Skegness and numerous other attractions The nearest town is a 5 minute drive and has supermarkets and other local shops, restaurants and other amenities available.

The owners are very approachable and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We will certainly be going back in the near future and are planning to use this site when we are visiting friends and family in the future.

My only piece of constructive criticism, which isn’t really a criticism, would be the option to have bedding, towels and tea towels supplied as an optional extra at an increased cost as this would allow us to travel down on motorbikes. Just a thought…..

So a huge thanks to Mick and his wife for looking after us during our stay and making it such a great experience.

Hi Mick just thought i’d say thanks for a great day fishing yesterday,As a wheelchair angler it was so refreshing to have the choice of some cracking wheelchair friendly pegs, and not just the one peg nearest the car park that no one else peg have lilies to one side and overhanging tree to the other, fantastic.we caught all day roach, skimmers, bream, perch, gudgeon, carp of all sizes it was brill!!!Can I also say what a great hosts you two are and how good your bacon rolls and burgers are, brought to your peg with a travel mug of tea for less than £3.We will be back next year when weather gets better as I cannot fish in cold due to my illness.

Keep up the good work ,as its paying off mate.

Many thanks Dave.

“We’ve just had three nights at ths wonderful site. We were met by Mick on arrival, who explained where things were and activated our electricity point for us. Even though there were five units on the site, the site itself is roomy enough for nobody to be on top of anyone else. The site is immaculately clean and kept to extremely high standards. The fishing lake is of very good quality. There are several public footpaths to walk along and a public house next door to the site. The wet room and toilets are exceptionally clean. We were given a highly informative welcome pack on arrival, giving all the information one could possibly need. Mick and Sheila are very welcoming and we can’t wait to return again in the very near future.”

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our two night stay with you on Aug 9th.
The site is absolutely lovely and so quiet and although we have children and Grandchildren of our own it was an added bonus to be in a child free environment for a few days! 😃
The facilities were spotless and in this worrying time of the virus the precautions in place were totally reassuring.
Although we are not anglers the lake was beautiful to walk around and was interesting to see.
Thank you for making us so welcome and we will certainly be back again.
