On the outskirts of Sturminster Marshall lies Dorset Springs. An idyllic location set amongst lakes, paddocks and meadows. The lakes are pleasant to walk around and the surrounding fields are grazed by sheep. For the keen carp fisherman day tickets are available for the 5 1/2 acre lake. Due to the close proximity of the lakes, young children must be closely supervised and for this reason lakeside pitches are restricted to adults only. There are electrical hook-ups for pitches, chemical emptying point, water tap and a toilet. Awnings are welcome.

We welcome all the family including well behaved pets but we politely request that they are kept under close control. Sturminster Marshall village is approximately 1/2 mile away. There is a farm shop with cafe, a small convenience store with a small off licence, pharmacy and pub.

The local towns of Blandford, Wimborne and Poole offer historical attractions and leisure facilities. They have services including restaurants, pub, chip shop, petrol station, supermarkets and a variety of shops. For families there are a variety of soft play venues, trampoline park, cinema and Farmer Palmers. Poole has a train station and ferry port, so we are an ideal location for a stop-over on the way to or from France. We welcome visitors all year round whether it is for a stop over, a weekend or a relaxing holiday.

Dorset Springs is the ideal base to explore Dorset whether it's exploring the countryside, the Jurassic coast, National Trust sites including Kingston Lacey and Corfe Castle, or enjoying beautiful coastal walks. Enjoy the sandy beaches of Sandbanks, the stony shores of Lulworth or take a step back in time and visit Tyneham. It is also a great base for local events including the Great Dorset Steam fair and Dorset County Show. With this on the door step you can be as adventurous or as relaxed as you like.

Fantastic Site

The welcome we received from Dory & Steve (kids & dog as well!!) was excellent. The site is great, very peaceful, level, and ideally situated for visits to Poole, Bournemouth and all parts of Dorset generally. We would recommend this site to all and will definitely be returning. Many thanks to Dory & Steve for your hospitality. PS. Contrary to the site listing on the CaMC website Dorset Springs does have electric hook ups!

Excellent stay

We booked for 3 nights (and stayed for 5) in early September. We arrived quite frazzled after a very busy and stressful time (and not a very easy journey down the A350) but quickly started to unwind in the surroundings and with a warm and caring welcome from Dory. Green pastures and still waters do help to restore the soul! And we were able to catch the express bus from Sturminster Marshall to Poole bus station and explore both the town and quayside - with a ferry ride to Brownsea Island. Lovely! The express bus also goes to Blandford Forum which we enjoyed on market day. And there's an excellent pub in Sturminster Marshall serving very good food. Looking forward to going to Dorset Springs again. It was hard to leave...Thank you, Dory and Steve.

Cracking CL

We used this CL when returning from France. Booked a few months in advance explaining that we arrived at Poole at 9:45 at night and it would be after 10:00 before we arrived, Emailed the day before arrival to confirm everything and got a reply shortly after with number for the entrance gate. Steve explained the site was full and would we be considerate of other residents. It was well after 11:00 by the time we arrived but we never had any problems, and as far as I know we did not cause any inconvenience to other residents. We met Steve the next morning he pointed us in the direction of a local cafe for breakfast. We only stayed the one night and left after breakfast. I would certainly use the site again if in the area and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone arriving on the ferry late at night and looking for somewhere for an overnighter.

Nice CL

5 Level pitches, toilet, ( shower block being built.) Large grounds with lake walk and plenty of wildlife, dogs loved it!! Close to Poole and Bournemouth. Lulworth Cove half an hour away. Easy walk to local village with good Pub “The Red Lion”who serve lovely meals. Owner very nice and welcoming I would recommend this CL

One of the best CLs we have ever stayed on.

We found this site on-line when searching for a CL near Wimborne. It is one of the best CLs that we have stayed on over 40 years of caravanning. We had a very warm and friendly welcome from the owners and were told to enjoy our stay and make full use of this very large property. There are actually two separate CLs in the parkland. One is alongside the larger of the 2 fishing lakes – ideal for fishermen – but has no electric hook-ups. The other, which we stayed on, overlooks a large field with a small flock of sheep and the lakes beyond. This particular CL does have electric hook-ups and there is also a toilet. A small shower block with wet rooms is under construction and will be in use for next season. The owners are very enthusiastic about developing their site for the benefit of caravanners , and have some ambitious plans for the future. Considering that they have established such a good site in less than 2 years, we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the future.

Directions : From Ringwood take the A31 signpost Poole. Stay on the A31 for 13 miles and at roundabout take the 3rd exit (A350) Poole Road. Site on the right in 230 metres.
