Family stay

Nice site nestled in a little valley.  There is a local train service that runs behind the site. The site is off a single track lane and the turning into the lane is tight and can be missed as two vans park on the turning.  Good base for Devon.

It's a good site but not if you need phone or WiFi and beware the narrow access!

No complaints about the site and facilities which are fine. The welcome was nice and the owner helpful. However I needed Wifi on my phone and could not get it anywhere on the site. Obviously this is NOT at all the fault of the owner. I should have asked in advance. When I explained without complaint at all that I would have to move on because I needed to work online, the atmosphere turned distinctly frosty and I was told I should have realised that it would be a problem in Devon! Well maybe I should have done, but as a site owner it still pays to be pleasant. There was quite a lot of dog poo around the site presumably from the owners dogs which run around loose, and there were extra vans and tents in an adjoining field. The road to the site is very narrow and my van's mudguard was pulled loose by the vegetation you had to drag past. I was warned in advance that the approach road was very narrow, it is also quite long. No chance to pass anyone from opposite direction. A car I met had to back up over 200 yards.

tranquility

a lovely tranquil weekend's stay - no phone or internet connection ;-) with simple, but adequate facilites, level ground and 25 mins easy walk down country lanes into Crediton Town centre (where it's worthwhile visiting the Quirky Three Little Pigs pub / resturant - excellent food and beers too)

autumn break

Just spent a very enjoyable week at Beare Mill, lovely large flat field so you have massive range as to where you can park your caravan, the toilets are basic but very clean also the shower room is basic but clean also it is free!!, we both thought that seeing the train trundling past was a lovely site to see and caused us no bother what so ever, the approach road was a little bit on the narrow side but once you got to the c.l. it was all forgotten. There are plenty of fields to walk your dog, On our way home I caught my caravan mover on a old tree stump and I cant thank Audrey enough for the help that she gave me with her workmen helping me out . All in all it is a very good c.l. and we would return again hopefully with a little bit better weather!! any of the past reviews with people saying bad reports forget them it is a lovely c.l.

Beautifully situated, quiet and spacious with great walks

We really did appreciate this site. The situation is beautiful, tranquil (the odd 2 coach train that passes really doesn't make much of an impact) and there is a nice walk within the site with river frontage and bathing spots - perfect for dogs. It's a big field so the pitches are very well spaced but there were also really friendly regulars that gave us useful tips as to where to visit etc and we did lots of exploring. From the site you can easily walk in to Crediton via footpath up and over the hill just by the site. The facilities are basic but adequate and there are good recycling facilities and use of washing machine should you need it. The approach could be challenging - half a mile of single track with few passing places but we managed fine and we have a long combination. Thanks Cec and Audrey, we'll surely be back!
