Chris welcomes you to his certified location at the Old Bears Den.
The Old Bears Den is easily accessible, situated just 2.5 miles from the A30. The CL sits within an English Heritage area surrounded by Cornish history in the form of many engine houses. The site itself conveniently sits opposite the King Edward Mine museum and its Croust Hut cafe. It is also literally surrounded by the Great Flat Lode, walking and cycling routes which take in the Carn Brea monument and castle.
A little further away are Cornwalls many beaches, the closest being Portreath which is a 15 minute drive or a little further down the coast is Gwithian and Hayle or in the opposite direction Perranporth both of which boast miles of beautiful golden sand.
Within walking distance from the site there is access to a village convenience store, Boots chemist, fish and chip shop and pubs. All of the main supermarkets are a short drive away.

August Stay

A lovely couple of nights away at Old Bears Den Newton Moor Camborne. The campsite is spotlessly clean, the grass is cut nicely and the pitches are spacious. The Great Flat Lode (part of the Mineral & Tramways) is right next to the site and is brilliant for bike riding and dog walking. The site is a good base to explore West Cornwall. The site owner (Chris) is really helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hope to visit again!

Directions : Do not follow Sat Nav
Leave the A30 at Tolvgodden exit onto the A3047. Crozz over 2 sets of traffic lights (very close together) and turn right down East Hill. At the traffic island continue straight on with Tesco on your left. After 0.5 miles turn left over the level crossing and past the railway station.
